Woodbridge resident Justin Garcia, 23, is behind bars following the investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have happened in the Gainesville area between July 2021 and June this year, according to a Prince William County Police Department spokesperson on Monday.
It is alleged that after meeting the underage girl on social media, Garcia sparked up a relationship with the girl, who was under the age of 18 at the time the two began "dating."
According to police, between July 2021 and June 2023, the two met on multiple occasions, and Garcia would provide her with marijuana before he sexually assaulted her. The investigation led detectives to identify Garcia as a suspect.
He was arrested late last week and charged with:
- Carnal knowledge of a child;
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor;
- Distribution of marijuana to an underage person.
His next court date was pending as of Monday afternoon and bond information was unavailable.
